As of
July 1st, the new Executive Board members took office. The
outgoing officers wish them well and extend their offer to help in any
way possible in the transition.
CTAB
was
represented
at the annual NEA Representative Assembly by
2 of the 3 delegates you voted for: Manny Lopez and Rob
Curry. A lot of business for our national level
organization
got done at the meeting, though the location of New Orleans did bid
delegates out AFTER the work of each day is done. The assembly
ran from July 1-7. The theme of the RA was "Hope Starts
Here". Next year's RA will be in Chicago, also over the
Independence Day holiday.

Although
only
one
candidate
has
filed
to serve on the PAR Committee, we held the
election for that seat May 4-5. Wendy Silveira has been elected
to a full 3-year term.
Each of our 3 PAR members serve staggered three year
terms. The committee is made up of our 3 unit members and 2
administrators who oversee the system for assisting teachers who
receive a negative evaluation.
