Executive Board Meets With School Board Members

Your Executive Board members are meeting on a monthly basis with our school board members. These informal meetings, held at the Rise and Grind Coffee House on Piedmont Road near Noble Avenue, are a great opportunity to let the board members know of our concerns. If you have concerns you wish brought up, contact members of the Executive Board.

Election Results

     Due to the recent resignation of our elected CTAB President, Vice President Maria Smith has assummed the post of President. In April, we elected a new Vice President to fill out the term through June 30, 2012.
     The Election Results are as follows:
            Rob Curry 225 votes    Write-in Manny Lopez 9 votes

Two candidates who filed for the PAR Panel Member position were Rob Curry and Aubrie Dimas
    The Election Results were:
        Rob Curry 120 votes     Aubrie Dimas 105 votes

2011 NEA RA Local Election Results

Our members elected 3 local delegates to represent our association at the National Education Association's Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly. This year, it will take place in Chicago, Illinois
from June 30-July 5, 2011.
The 3 candidates were Manny Lopez, Gary Gairaud and Rob Curry.
Manny will be going as a state delegate, as he was also elected in the state election as well.
Likewise, Joe Hermann has been elected as a state delegate, so CTABerryessa will have 4 of its members at the NEA RA in Chicago.

What Does the PAR Joint Panel Do?

Each of our 3 PAR members serve staggered three year terms. The committee is made up of our 3 unit members and 2 administrators who oversee the system for assisting teachers who receive a negative evaluation.
