At Piedmont Middle, we also offer the following GATE Curricular Programs:

• Differentiated Instruction:  Within the regular mixed ability class, students will be challenged to work at their higher academic level through various differentiation techniques employed by the classroom teacher.

• Accelerated Placement in Math: Students are placed in the level of Math that is most appropriate for them, regardless of their grade level.  6th graders are placed according to how they performed on the placement test given to Berryessa Union School District 5th grade in the Spring.  7th and 8th graders are placed where the teachers and counselors believe is their correct instructional level.
• GATE Newspaper and School Web Site Elective Class: Mr. Ausman is the teacher of this elective that is offered to 7th and 8th grade GATE students and other non-GATE students on a space available basis.
